A blue Lada (the most popular car in Russia by far) drew
alongside me. A man with Robert De Niro facial features
shouted to me across the passenger seat, and whilst I was
pleased at the greeting, I had absolutely no idea what he was
saying. The three women peering at me from the passenger
and rear seats had broad grins. The Lada stopped. I stopped
and then De Niro got out.
“Come. Our place. Sleep.”
