Anyway, I ended up being interviewed by the local TV
station. As usual, I explained what I was doing and showed
them my helmet.
A lady wearing sunglasses with short, blonde hair,
called Elena, asked “Why?” When I replied, “For a pint of
Guinness!”, another member of staff brought me a bottle of
the local dark beer, shouting at me, “Irkutsk Guinness!”,
which I duly drank. The entire story from our meeting on the
bridge to the ‘Irkutsk Guinness’ appeared on the news that
